So I’m sure everyone has just been on the edge of their seats waiting for the big decision on where I am going to travel for Thanksgiving this year – Seattle or Denver. I am glad to say that I have finally made up my mind and can start getting this trip planned. And the winner is …
Seattle

While the decision wasn’t easy, as both are places I want to visit, it came down to two things more than anything else. The first is that I have been to Denver before, and this will be the first time I have had an opportunity to visit Seattle. From the basic research I have done so far, there are some great things to do in Seattle and some great places to eat. The second major reason for the decision is the ability to go and see an NHL team at home in their inaugural season. As a lifelong hockey fan, I have been lucky enough to see NHL games in a number of cities and seen a good number of teams in the league live, but I have never seen a game in a team’s first season. Too good of an opportunity to pass up.
Over the next month or so I will share some of the planning process for the trip and identify some of the things I am planning on doing while in Seattle. Please feel free to share any thoughts or ideas you have, as I appreciate advice from anyone who knows the city. In the meantime I better get on locating a Seattle Kraken shirt for the game, and making sure I know all the best places to eat.

More to share soon,
